REBT - how to feel more healthy, positive emotions.

I believe it is so important to learn how to use the power of your mind.

We all want to feel good. We want to feel happy and positive.

At the very least we want to stop feeling terrible.

WE don’t want to feel like a piece of shit.

This is the motivating force behind EVERYTHING we do.

We want to be moving AWAY from something negative.

OR

We want to be moving TOWARDS something positive.

REBT teaches us how to feel more healthy, positive emotions.

REBT teaches us how to take control of our experience of life.

I use it to teach techniques and tools for taking back control of your life, by learning how to direct your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

In its simplest terms REBT is:

R = Rational

Most of the time, our thinking is pretty irrational.

When we think more rationally, our lives are better.

E = Emotive

Our emotions are affected by what happens, but not directly by what happens.

It is our irrational thinking about what happens that causes our negative emotions.

B = Behavioural

Most of the time we act based on how we feel.

And how we feel depends on what we think about what is happening around us.

T = Therapy

Teaching or training or techniques.

This is a process that can be LEARNED.

It’s a process for changing thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behaviours.

And that is what I love about REBT.
